About Paul

Paul Thompson is an Electronics Engineer with over 40 years of design and development experience in the fields of power electronics, embedded microcontrollers and electric fences. He is a member of several Standards groups and considered an expert in the field of Electronics for Electric Fences. He has approximately 19 patents to his name.

Paul and Kayleen founded Pakton Technologies in 1995, an OEM design and production company now with a large portfolio of products. Pakton was “born global” and has always exported the majority of it’s products out of Australia. They co-founded JVA in 2006 which added a retail brand to better address the markets of Australia and South Africa. These two companies later merged into the Pakton Group.

In recent years Kayleen has retired and Paul is in the process of doing so. He now spends a lot more time tinkering on his own projects, travelling with Kayleen and enjoying grand parenthood.

Paul is politically progressive, with views that align best with Utilitarianism. He supports Green causes, but is no longer a member of any political party.
